Mindfulness Group for Children with Anxiety (ages 8-12)
Research shows that mindfulness practice changes the brain (in both structure and function) in the areas responsible for a child’s emotional regulation skills. Children in the group will engage in group discussions, breathing exercises, mindfulness activities, guided meditations, and gentle yoga poses aimed at identifying their thoughts and feelings and calming their nervous system. This group will assist in decreasing anxiety symptoms and increasing self-esteem and positive mood. Space is limited.
