The Art of Delivering Assists

Date: Saturday, February 23 Time: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM (includes a 30 minute break)

This half-day intensive program will equip you with the tools to powerfully and effectively assist a Baptiste Yoga class. Assisting is the ultimate act of service in the yoga room. As an assistant your job is to make connections with the students throughout skillful, intentional assists. You will study True North Alignment and how to effectively create this alignment in your student’s bodies through hands on assists. You will learn at least one, or more, assists for every pose in Journey into Power (the Baptiste Yoga sequence). You will engage in discussion about best assisting practices and how to avoid common assisting pitfalls. You will practice the Actions for Artful Assisting.

Program is facilitated by Certified Baptiste Instructor and FIT to Lead graduate Michelle Bass.

Who is this Program for?
This program is for EVERYONE. If you teach, it will up level your teaching and connection to the students 100%. If you practice, this program will get you in tune with your own body to find your fullest expression in every single pose. If you assist or desire to assist, you will gain the skills needed to assist at Home Power Yoga.

If you already know how to assist, GREAT! This program will allow you to practice your skills in a learning environment where you will receive live feedback. Mastery of any skills takes a lot of practice!

The program will conclude with information on Home Power Yoga’s Assisting Team. Information will include how to join the team and expectations of Home Power Yoga Assistants.

Discovering Journey Into Power: How to Intentionally Craft and Lead a Baptiste Yoga Class

Date: Sunday, March 17 Time: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Baron Baptiste’s method of power vinyasa yoga has been working for millions of people for many years. His method of power vinyasa yoga is based upon Journey into Power, a sequence of 53 poses that are divided into 11 series. During this half-day intensive program, you will practice and learn the poses and series of Journey into Power (JIP). You will discover that each series is guided by an intention that is designed to work globally and systemically to benefit all the dimensions of the body.

Along with learning the exact poses in order, you will learn modifications to adapt these poses to every body. You will practice teach JIP, which frees you up as a teacher to be present to your students. Lastly, you will learn how and where to skillfully make additions and subtractions from JIP to allow for greater creativity and flow.

Program is facilitated by Certified Baptiste Instructor and FIT to Lead graduate Michelle Bass.

Who is this Program for?
This program is specifically designed for new and experienced teachers who are new to Baptiste Yoga. This program will also work for anyone who is interested in teaching Baptiste Yoga.

What will I gain from this program?

  • The exact sequence of poses that make up Journey into Power
  • How to lead a yoga class with intention and purpose, including how to pace JIP in a 20 minute, 45 minute, 60 minute, 75 minute, or 90 minute class
  • Modifications for the poses in JIP
  • You will take turns practice teaching JIP to the group
  • How/where to add/subtract poses from JIP

40 Days to a Personal Revolution

Your personal revolution is calling and it is time to level up your health and vitality!

Join us for 40 days of unlimited yoga, meditation, nutritional support, and journaling, starting Tuesday, January 22.

Weekly meetings held on Tuesdays from 7:15 PM - 8:15 PM.

Program is co-led by HOME Instructors and Baptiste Certified Instructors Liz Snyder and Michelle Bass.

During this 40 day program, co-facilitators Liz Snyder & Michelle Bass will lead you into your own personal revolution. You will come to understand that all health and vitality is the outward reflection of a pure heart and right intent. Through the four parts of this program, yoga asana, balancing diet, meditation, and excavation questions, you will start to see that transformation happens naturally. You will lose weight, if that is what needs to happen; you will become less reactive and more calm; your bad habits will start to lose their grip on you. You will discover that external changes happen when we first adjust the inner workings of our minds --when we adopt a philosophical foundation that gives our growth greater purpose and meaning.

Why 40 Days?
The number 40 holds tremendous significance in the realm of transformation. It takes 40 days to ingrain any new way of being into our system, and that is what we are seeking to do: wipe out the old and welcome in the new, In 40 days, you can shift into a whole new way of being and living.

We would love to have you at every meeting and in the studio as much as possible, and we also understand that life does not always go according to plan! Come join our community of supportive mamas as you transition together into motherhood and introduce your babies to HOME power yoga! This class focuses on poses for the postnatal mom, as well as yoga poses, songs, and massages for baby to promote bonding and physical, cognitive, and social development.

Katie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Holistic Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga instructor. She is passionate about empowering women during pregnancy as they prepare for childbirth and motherhood.

HOMEgrown Mamas: Mindful Pregnancy and Birthing Class with Katie Tierney

This workshop focuses on instructing expectant moms and their partners in breathing, relaxation, and visualization techniques to utilize through pregnancy, labor, and birth. Participants will understand the connection of breath and imagery to easing fear and pain during childbirth. The techniques assist in decreasing anxiety, staying grounded in present moment, and tapping in to one's instinctive self to experience a more embodied and mindful pregnancy, birth, and journey into motherhood. Also included will be useful 'tips' on how to advocate for an empowered birth within a hospital setting.
