    Laura Drechsel

Laura is a 500 hour certified Baptiste instructor as well as a pre/post natal instructor. Laura has been practicing yoga since 2008 when she walked into her first Baptiste class and never looked back. Laura was drawn to the practice because it reminded her of years as a gymnast and she enjoyed how the physical challenge kept her mind completely present for the entirety of a class. Laura was a college athlete and enjoys physically challenging activities but something about yoga was different. After classes she noticed that she felt like a brand new person physically and mentally. It was a different feeling than the sore but satisfied feeling she got after an intense Hitt workout or long run. As the years went by and life got complicated yoga became so much more than a physical practice and she credits the themes of baptiste yoga with rewiring her brain to be a happier, freer version of herself. As Laura embarked on a very challenging infertility journey she became passionate about the power of yoga before, during and post pregnancy and loves to share it with others going through their own journey.

Laura graduated from Lafayette College and went right into Teach for America where she found her second passion, education. She continues to work in the field and believes teachers of all kinds are transformative. Connecting teaching to yoga has been an empowering experience for her. Laura lives in Westfield, New Jersey with family and can't get enough of her two little boys. She was waiting outside on the opening morning of HOME power yoga at 5:45am and feels incredibly lucky and thankful to be part of this community that has brought her so many new friends.

A teacher at heart, Laura loves serving others and is determined to have everyone in her class feel empowered, included and part of creating new possibilities.
